Cookie Policy
Effective date: 1 January 2026. Last updated: 4 September 2026.
1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains how DSM Advisory uses cookies and similar technologies on this website and the secure client portal. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They can be session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (which remain until they expire or you delete them). We also refer here to local storage used for the same purposes, such as recording that you have acknowledged this notice.
3. How we use cookies
We use cookies only as needed to run a secure professional website. We do not use advertising cookies, social-media tracking pixels, or cross-site behavioural profiling.
| Cookie / storage | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| dsm-cookie-ack | Strictly necessary | 12 months | Stores that you have acknowledged this cookie notice so it is not shown on every visit. |
| Portal session | Strictly necessary | Session | Maintains an authenticated session on the client portal after a valid Corporate ID and access token are presented. Set only if login is attempted. |
| Security / load-balancing | Strictly necessary | Session | May be set by our hosting and TLS infrastructure to route requests and protect against abuse. |
4. Consent
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the ePrivacy rules applicable in the EEA, strictly necessary cookies may be set without consent. We currently set only strictly necessary cookies. If we introduce analytics or preference cookies in future, we will update this policy and request consent before setting them.
5. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site and the client portal may not function. Blocking cookies does not prevent security logging of IP addresses at the server, which we carry out as a legitimate interest and legal obligation to protect the system.
6. Updates and contact
We will revise this policy when our cookie use changes. Questions: privacy@dsmadvisory.com.
